Label Interval (Vertical not Horizontal)

How can you add labels on major contours (every 5 or 10 vert ft) not every 1 foot contour.

That doesn't sound right...

If you are trying to label only Major intervals, then a general label is probably not what you want to use. Using Contour - Multiple in Surface Labels, you can place a contour label line. If you then select it and look at the properties, you will see two fields for "Display Major Contour Labels" and "Display Minor Contour Labels". You can turn off either or both of them. The interval between Major and Minor Contours is set in the Surface Style.

Remember the "Select Similar" command... If you want to change all your contour label lines at once, pick one of them, then right-click and "Select Similar". Then go into Properties and change the properties of all of them at once.
