Wall display

In modifying an existing wall definition in order to create a new style I have somehow messed up the default. This wall alone displays as thin lines. Any suggestions?

Things to look at:

Is the wall shorter than 4'. If so it displays as thin lines - not cut.
Is the wall in the same place as another wall? Walls that sit in the same space display as thin lines.
Have any graphic overrides been applied to the object or the view?

This odd occurrence seems to be confined to the newly created wall, and I have inadvertently changed the original.
