We have different parts lists created for Sanitary & Storm sewer, but when we change parts lists, the layers don't change. Does anyone know a work around for this?

I had a similar dilemma when creating our companies styles. Within the Network Parts List you assign a style to each part. With each style you specify specific layers that you want each pipe on. Like C-SSWR-PIPE and C-STRM-PIPE, for sewer and storm sewer respectively. However, when a new Network is created, within that dialog there's a layers box that regardless of what Network Part is used, does not change. This layer is set in the Drawing Settings under the Object Settings Tab. As far as I could find there is no way to link the two. What I ended up doing was creating styles for each to have ability to change each networks color and linetype independently but in the Drawing Settings I had the pipes placed on a layer C-PIPE, instead of constantly updating the layers within the Create Network dialog.

Hopefully this helps.

Don't know if you've solved this one yet but I leave the default pipe and structure layers set to 0 in the Pipe Network properties vista. Then set the layers for San & Storm for your structures and pipes in the San & Storm parts list respectively they should come in the color and lineweight of the layer in the parts list. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the input. I'll give that a try.
