Multiple Xref Clips

Being new to AutoCAD 2008, I have a question about being able to make multiple clips in a single Xref. Is this possible, or is there another way of doing it that I'm not aware of.

Only one clipped area per xref. So you can copy the xref multiple times, or you can come up with a creative closed polyline that can be used.
