I am creating custom ICONs in photoshop and I am not having any luck getting them into AutoCAD 2004. I have tried 16BIT, 8BIT and 4BIT icons at 16x16 pixels and they keep getting cut off (both the bottom and right edge). It seems like my icons are too large in pixel size, but when I measure the ones that come with AutoCAD they are being displayed at 16x16.

I don't understand. Has anyone had any luck doing this (and not drawing them in the ACAD icon drawing tool)?

What version of acad are you using? The pixel size changed in 2005. Before, they were 15 high and 16 wide, now they are 16X16. Also, try taking an icon generated by acad and using it as a template.

I use to actually open an existing AutoCAD icon and saveas to another file to edit. Once there you can bring in whatever you need from photoshop and your image size is already set for you.

I suggest you copy and open a standard icon image file,
edit it and do save as...to the new image name and test that.

Hey, we were only one minute apart from a great idea! :)
