I am full of dumb questions today. Does anyone have or know of a way to get an oversized brick surface pattern (5 crs in 16")?

Load it from revit.pat with appropriate scale?

I've done that by copying & modifying the standard brick running bond pattern from AutoCAD:

*AR-BROVSZ, Oversize brick elevation stretcher bond
;%TYPE=MODEL
0, 0,0, 0,3.2
90, 0,0, 3.2,4, 3.2,-3.2

You should be able to use the pattern listed above in Revit as a model hatch; you'll have to save it as an ASCII file with a .pat extension.

Dean,
How in the world do I do that?

copy the text from Deans post. Start Notepad or Word, etc. Paste from the clipboard the text you copied from Dean. Save the file, giving it a descriptive name such as 5in16.pat Under Settings - Fill Pattern - New - (be sure Model is picked) - Select Custom and you will get a file browser. Point Revit to the File you just saved. Look at the image and see if it appears in the preview box. If it looks correct just save it. If not you might have to play with the scale factor -

Attached is the example. Rename it to delete the txt extension (The upload will not allow a pat extension).

This assumes that you want a hatch pattern in the drawing, not a rendering - That is a different process..
