I have several different instances where I need to creat a rectangular to round transition. One specific case would be rectangular object of 10.5" wide x 4.75" to 12" dia. at a 15 degree angle. Can someone direct me or instruct me on how to accomplish this task.

Thanks for any help.

Do you know the distance in which it has to transition in?

Im not sure exactly why you are needing this but if its because of making a piece of duct ...

you may want to check out this website. http://www.sheetmetalguy.com/transition.htm

Yes, it is for ductwork, I was hoping for a quick solution. Like maybe the pyrimid command with round on one end would be awesome. Oh well, I will keep trying, thanks for your help.

Well that did create what I am wanting, however do you know of a way to make it into a solid for modeling?

Thanks again for your help

I have posted a drawing of what I think you require.

I created this using the "Loft" command - I lofted the rectangle to the Circle.

Mike.

Thanks Mike, I guess I need to study up on loft. I am just getting started with the 3d stuff. I kept trying to build the fitting with the standard basic tools.

Thanks again.

It can also be produced in any full version of acad (after R9) by using surfaces.
Anyone interested could look up Rulesurf / Edgesurf / etc..
The finished shape could be converted to solids by M2S.lsp.
