Fatal Error ... blah blah blah

I get the same error after about 3 commands. Its not always the same command each time???
It is one specific drawing.

Here is the error code...?

... and it is a user thing. Someone else opened the drawing and nothing messed up??

The computer that is acting up has been rebooted and shut down with no help??

Issues/Problems with random crashes are notoriously difficult to resolve due to their very nature.... hopefully Ed's little guide will help.

Could try Exporting an AutoCAD Profile (ARG) from the user that doesn't experience the problem, them Import & Set Current within your AutoCAD session.

Could be your Windows Profile that's causing the problem.

Could be that you need to repair or completely un-install/reinstall of AutoCAD

I realise there are a lot of "Could be's", unfortunately with issues/problems like these it's the nature of the beast. Normally there is no quick easy answer if you really want to resolve such issues/problems. I'm afraid you will have to do a lot of detective work if you want really want to correct the issue/problem.

alright - now I have found out that is not user based. It is just very random. on another machine the person worked for about 10 minutes no problems and then bam!! could not do more than one or two commands without crashing...

so i don't think it is a profile issue

Do the error codes give any info?? Cause it gives me different ones sometimes??

You could try a web search on the Fatal Error message, if you're lucky results will be returned that will either answer or give clues to the message.

Some more "Could be's" -

Software conflict / problem

Hardware problem

Drawing file problem as you say it's only this one drawing file that exhibits this behaviour (have you tried completely rebuilding the drawing file).

I finally said screw it and started a new dwg and copy and pasted all the stuff into it one by one to see if I could figure out what it was and I got everything into the new dwg with no problems now. So????? There is no problem now that I recreated the sheet. It had to have been something embedded but I did a purge all and kept running an audit. All the good stuff. and never found why it was crashing.

Lost story short... I took a few minutes recreated the sheet and problem solved...thanks
