I must be missing something...
Help describes the method of tagging a Beam System, but that function seem to be missing. See the attached screen capture.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Reviving this thread as I am having the same problem. Was there an answer to this?

The help file certainly isnt easy to follw as it appears to not coincide with actual steps available.

Cheers

This is an error in the help file. The beam system tagging is not part of Revit Architecture. The error has been logged with the documentation team.

What do you mean error in help file ? Family is where it says it is ? Is this another special tool that on only structure has? I can't beleive Autodesk can hold back this simple and useful tool from us ,so it seems "much inferior Architecture users". Come on Autodesk don't we pay enough dues!!!!

You should be able to create your own annotation family. Do a new "generic annotation" or "generic tag" family and under settings - family category and parameters, change the tag type to "Structural Beam System Tags. If you can't see that category, click "show category's from all diciplines".

Its a very clever little dialogue for tagging beams in Revit STRUCTURES
You can assign all matter of tags and set their positions along the beam

Again - YES - Autodesk seem to think us Architects dont need such tools

I reckon they would prefer it if we didn't have the ability to place any structre at all at this rate

Phil I think you are talking about the wrong tagging option there.

Beam System Tag is used for the Beam systems it's actually been around abit but never really worked untill now, the beam annotation option you are talking about is a great tool but again only available is Revit Structure.

Architects need a beam tag.

For Autodesk to not provide us with this tool reminds me of why I jumped their ship long ago and went to a new product called Revit.

Autodesk,

Once again... your segregation priorities are misplaced!

RAC can "create" the Beam System. Why can't it tag it as well?
That's like allowing the creation of walls, floors, and roofs and not allowing them to be tagged or dimensioned.

What is so special about this function, that ADSK has seen fit to limit it use to only Revit Structure? As a liability issue, RAC users (and Autodesk) would be far safer with the proper [intelligent] tagging of all objects created, as opposed to limiting their annotaion to "dumb" text and linework.

Please get this resolved!
