I have an older file that has been through a number of upgrades since it was first played with in December '01.
I am now trying to form a fascia using a host sweep and it won't have it. When I use the fascia tool it runs as normal but if you check the fascia's properties, both the family and type drop down boxes are empty.
Has anyone else experienced this?
The file has gone to support but of course it won't get dealt with quickly enough to suit my deadline as I only sent it off late last night.

So, when you click the facia and then properties, it doesn't say which profile family that is being used?

That's what was happening, but support looked a little harder than I did and all the relevant fascia types were there if you just selected the drop down box and went looking.
Of coiurse by then I had modelled the bits I needed as in place families.

Of course, that's always the way it goes. Well, a bit of knowlege for the next time. Also, I have found it usefule in the past to make the profile family parametric, then if you need to change its dimensions, go to the profile family in the family browser, right click and go to properties. There you can change its attributes.

Ran into the same problem, and it had to do with the fact that the model was drawn in a previous version. Try drawing another simple roof, off to the side somewhere in your drawing. You should be able to attach a fascia to that.
You may need to delete the 'old' roof, redraw it, and then apply the fascia.
HTH!

Thanks Scott
Actually, since I last posted the issue it has happened again. Support are willing to longhand fix the files, but I don't think it is worth sending them in. It's not such a big deal.
