Spline and Loft tool

There are some ways to close a spline with a straight line.

I have a problem making a 3d solid by loft; if i leave the spline open and then I close it with external line and convert those to a region, then i cant make a solid with loft.

I converted the spline into pline and make it region, but the solid was so weigh and all turned so slow.

I can use loft with closed splines but, i need a straight line in the spline.

I can't duplicate the problem you're having. I tried what you are describing but it works fine with me. It could be a memory or graphic card issue here. We can help you more if you can post the drawing for evaluation.

how do you select the parts to make the loft??

i mean, you have a spline and a line that close it... but when you select each part in order to make the solid loft how do you do?...

I just selected the profiles by its lofting order.

By the way, you need to convert the spline and line to region first. Just select a spline and its closing line. Don't select all in converting regions, It won't work.

I wanted to get to this point. I did it just like that... first drew the spline... then drew the line to close. and finally i converted to region.....

even on the draw that you posted.... i convert each spline and line to region, and when i try to make the loft... i get: "Selected cross-section is not a valid type"

It's no problem of my computer... because in the laptop and desktop i get the same problem.


I want to thank you for your time.... and ask for your help to know what im doing wrong.

Ok, it seems just you and me in this problem. :D I have ran out of suggestions, maybe you can post the problem drawing to give us more clues about the situation.

arshiel... finally i've got a solution... not the best... but something

i lofted only the spline line making a surface with the required form.
then i make a solid and i sliced it whit surface path...

it's not the optimun option.. but it works for now....

i think that the problem is an issue of my autocad version, because i tested it on three diferents systems... but all of them whit the same software.
