How to make a cut block?

is there a way of making the repeating detail cut the block and infill?

i have got it to cut but it just cuts back to the next full size block, giving me a void. do i have to make a detail on its own or can this be automatic?

You can build it in to a Line Based Detail Component, but it will take a little figuring out.

Nest the standard dtl component in to the LBDC, then use an array with a parameter for count thats based on the length of the line. In the LBDC itself, you can put in the cut block, and constrain it to reference planes: One based on the end of the line, and one based on the end of the Dtl Comp. Array. That will give you a variable cut block, depending on the length of the line drawn.

If the formulas are set up right this would work pretty easily.
