Hi All

I have looked through the forum but cant fint the answer to this question so I will ask.

I have a section and its is not showing the grid line as I have realised that it is not perpendicular to the grid.

What is the best method of rotating this section line in plan to become perperdicular to grid ?

I have tried the align tool but it does not let you select the section line.

I know I can re-do the section but I have added call outs and detail lines to to section already and dont want to loose them.

Any guidence would be gratefully received.

Thanks

Dave

For a section simpl draw a line or a ref plane over it. You will then be able to use that to rotate. For an elevation view though its diffrent. See that solution from the INCREDIBLE Big D http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=59475

The easiest way to do this is to use the Rotate command and use the "Place" button. This option lets you use a reference point and angle.

I have documented this technique here: http://bimextension.com/rotate-a-section-to-line-up-to-an-angled-element-in-revit/

There is no need for any line, ref planes nor place button. Simply rotate the section, it will snap to the element. If you have a lot of elements, you might need to temporarily isolate your grid and the section, otherwise Revit might get confused to what object you want to snap.

This does not work for trades that need to use a linked architectural model as a reference.
