I have a sq. bldg. with one front corner clipped of and replaced with a 45 deg. corner.
How do I get a dimension from the back wall to the 45 deg. corner?

Place the first point of your dimension on the back wall, then zoom into the angle of the wall. If you hover the cursor around where the wall lines join a small dot should highlight. This is where the wall faces meet. You should be able to click the dimension to that point. If you move the wall(s) later, the dimension will follow that junction point.

I don't have time to show graphics, but hopefully words will do...
When dimensioning, you can keep hitting tab to select other parts of the wall (even the beginning "point" of an edge of a wall)
Secondly, the first item you pick establishes the direction of your dimension string....so if you have a vertical edge (even a temporary line that will be deleted) and you select this vertical edge, then you select a "point" of an edge of a wall, you will get a horizontal dimension from the line to the point....if you select another point....you now have a dimension string......if you delete the vertical line, you now have 2 points dimensioned perpendicular to the vertical line....

That doesn't work on my computer. My computer gives me the sound for "exclamation" what ever that means( I think 'you screwed up').

Hey there,
They forgot to mention that sometimes you must use the tab button to cycle through the various wall faces and dimension points.
(Just tab through until you see the "point" of the angle highlight.)
Good Luck

Hi Steve, I did mention that, but if you missed, maybe he missed it as well...

Thanks, I tried it again & got it to work; I was looking for a somewhat larger "dot".
When you said to zoom in , I didn't think I had to almost fill the 20" monitor with an 8" wall to see it.

No need to zoom right in if you're going to TAB through the possible snaps.
