Edit cut profile problem - left with a line

i am making some walls wider and when i do it, im left with a line.

how to i get rid of the pesky thing?

You're making the whole wall wide? That isn't how the edit cut profile is intended to be used. It is intended for small bumps and details. In the situation you show, you should be changing the wall type to a wider one.

hi, im still new so bare with me :)

what im drawing is chimney breasts in the walls, hence why they are a lot thicker - i didnt think to draw a thicker wall, but it just seems long winded as i would have to split walls on length and levels.

Edit Cut Profile is view specific - it doesn't actually affect the modeled elements. So if your use the Edit Cut Profile in plan, it's not going to show up in any other view - your sections, elevations, 3D, or other plan views.
