I was wondering...
every time I come here I have trouble logging in.. then.. after I finally do get in, I almost always get *invalid session* when I try to enter a new post or a reply, though I am still logged in according to the mainpage. Also I sometimes find myself being logged out all of a sudden.. in the middle of things!?
This is so annoying that I've been using the RevitNewsgroup much more again but.. I'd rather stick with you guys  I just don't get it, on other forums I never have any trouble ?

I get that too... I end up cutting - going "back" then pasting after typing in my username and password again. It is like you time out or something? seems ok if you dont type for too long, or paste in the post quickly :?:

Well worth the little extra effort though :D (and woth making your password short!)

(just pasted this message in after doing as described above)

okay.. just had to -sign in- again to post ?? :x
but anyway, what I wanted to say is, I don't think it's a simple time-out though. I find myself not-logged sometimes > directly after I just logged in! Ending up doing the copy/paste of my messages after entering my name/pass again.

also funny.. do you see how my -posts count- directly under my name is stuck on 6 ?? or is posts-count based on the number of new topics you start?

oh.. no it's not like that
it simply changes for all messages you've posted! ups.. me and my big mouth!

hmm.. this is the first I've heard of this behavior. :( I'd like to sort it out for you guys. Can you tell me what browsers you are using and how long it takes before you are logged out?

It may be a time out thing, or somthing else. :?

Is anybody else out there have this problem???

thanks

Never had trouble logging in but I was bounced once when composing a particularly long post. Netscape 7.02 & Win 2000.

Both problems seem to be from across the pond. Could it be an international phone line limitation of some sort to limit connection time on long distance?

could be... remember this site runs through a didnky cable modem and since this site started we have pushed through over 8.11 gigs of data!!!! I really surprised it has kept up as well as it has.

I wouldn't have believed it if i hadn't seen it with my own eyes.

I just wrote a message saying.. I use IE6 but it's probably my network which does not seem the most stable in the world. I never have trouble but maybe with the narrow bandwidht??
And then I ran into the f*kin -invalid session- statement again when I hit send!!! damn! Let me hit send fast now before I can start all over again...

chris, I still have the same problem.. it's really strange, isn't there anybody else besides Martin experiencing this? I just got the -invalid session- again.. went back, copied, logged in again, reposted and found out that my post had been placed twice!
irritating indeed... am I that stupid or what? I never had any problems on forums before though, not even on those using exactly the same format as you do here.
