I have been trying out the keynotes in Revit 2008 and every time I startup the project file I receive the following error:

Duplicate key value '', text: ' '

I have done a search on the error and am coming up with nothing. I have been through this file so many times looking for a any Duplicates but I have not had any luck. I have attached the txt file. Thanks in advance for any ideas you can come up with.

This may be it but not sure: You need to deinfe all your headings before you start defining notes. this is from Help file:

Keynotes are defined in a tab-delimited text file. The first portion of the text file is reserved for major headings/categories (the parent values). The remainder of the file is for sub-headings/categories (the child values). A tab-delimited file requires the use of the TAB key to create spaces between data entries.

So rearragne your text file putting headings at the top: (tab in between numner and heading)

A1 Floor plan
A1.1 Section Plan
A1.2 Enlarged Plan
Etc.

Then below that.put your notes with each main heading number traling your keynote, as you have already.

A1-110-005 FLOOR DRAIN A1
.....
A1.2-104-001 HAND DRYER A1.2
.....

Remove all the empty lines in the keynote file and it will work.

Ah, so the empty lines are the "duplicate" values? Each empty line is actually a value.

I had a similar problem a few weeks ago and i fixed the keynote file by removing special characters (") in all my descriptions.See attached keynote file
