External doors - the step is wrong side

recently i've been drawing a lot of extensions/houses with the external doors opening out, rather than in.

the problem i have is the step is then on the inside. is this easy to edit as i've neved edited a family file like a door before.

This is not particularly difficult. Select the door then click on the 'edit family' button.
You could just edit the plan swing lines to show the door opening outward and leave everything else the same. Otherwise you will need to edit the extrusion that represents the threshold and the 2d lines that represents the threshold.

I have attached a (slightly rough ) example.
