Spelling command

I could just be missing it, but in '08 when you type sp for spelling you have to go though a dialogue box, before you would type sp and then you where allowed to select what you want and then it would report back, now you have to bring a pull down box to get to the selection option...is there a way to get back to the original?

we could only wish, I wish we could go back to the intelligence of the 05 spell check. if you had punctuation or numbers as part of a word, spell check would only catch on it if the punctuation was missing (i.e. (TYP.) would hit on spell check if the () or the . were not there, and you could programatically run spell check with a selection set.

So there is no way in '08 to bypass the box that makes you choose selection and then click start and then click ok when it is finished...? That is going to be disappointing if that is the case. '05 had a goos spell checker...why would they switch, they have not uprgraded that feature in my mind...Thanks for your help, disappointing or not, I will at least know.
