Any suggestions for floor slab coordination? Should we (the architect) control the slab and have the structural engineer copy / monitor it? Or should it be reversed? On our last project we each had a seperate floor slab and it seemed a challenge to keep them coordinated.

Thanks

The floor slab is a structural item. The SE should be the one to detail the reinforcement and ensure that the slab is going to handle the loads required by code. It would be best if the architect made a call out (for proposal purposes, if the proposal is done without Structural input) then updated all of their drawings to the code requirements once the Structural Engineer has had a chance to start an analysis of the facility.

Some people may differ on my thoughts about this, but this is how the local governing jurisdictions require things be done.

If there is good comminication between both parties and easy access to an ftp site another possible solution is to share a seperate Revit file in which both of you link in. Any modifications are saved to the file on the ftp site and the other party is notified.
