polyline shows hollow

A rookie question, but one I've never dealt with (the drawing is from outside the company):

My wide polylines are displaying as hollow. How can I change this? FILL and FILLMODE are on.

Make sure your current view is a plan view (Plan command is one way).
Make sure Shademode is "2dwireframe" in all relevant viewports..

Thanks for the assist.

I took a closer look at the drawings and xrefs I was working with. What a mess! I was trying to copy a few nested lines from an xref. They turned out to be 3D lines (differing z-coords). I think that contributed to the problem. I just drew my own lines and worked around the problems.

The problem when you have a polyline that apprears hollow in model space, and fine in paper space is 99.9999999% of the time that the polyline has a thickness associated with it, which makes it a 3D entity. Simply select the affected polylines, look at their properties and set the thickness to '0'. This should fix the problem.
