Most of the construction material colors in europe are RAL coded.
I can only find the pantone system in Revit, which I beleive is most suited for graphic design.
Is there a way of using RAL colors in Revit, as in Autocad?

Pantone has an architectural color system you can download it from their web site
it loads into windows and is available in Revit

You miss the point.
Construction materials I use come with colors referencing RAL.
That goes for tiles, paints, power coatings, etc, etc.
It does not make any sense using Pantone for me.

A quick Google search resulted in numerous hits for fan files available from printing shops on line. Try this one for a start.

I've found these really expensive in the past but if you need it, you need it. I don't think there is an auotmatic way but if you go to trouble once you can always save the colors to a template and done with it.

Thank you Dimitri.
That was not the answer I wanted :(
My frustration is that you get the RAL palette in Autocad, as well as Pantone and DIC.
You can choose from the color book you want.
As simple as that.

I'm not familiar with the RAL standard. Is it very common in the US, Europe, UK ?

It's a common standard in Europe for paintings (as Pantone is for printing).
Of course the UK has it's own BS and in the US, I don't know.

Just for curiosity, you can check:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAL_(color_space_system) (http://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAL_(color_space_system))

And the official site:

You can check the revitfactory site. There you will find RAL color table for Revit.

If memory serves, I started a thread a while back discussing a problem with color fidelity visa-vi between 2D and 3D view in Revit. Just an FYI that even if you get really accurate colors for 2D (or 3D, I forget), it's not straight forward that you get them in 3D...
