Perhaps my mind is taking the weekend off but I have a really dumb question:
1) Appoximately 11 acre site.
2) Created the topo from an imported civil dwg file, thereby establishing projected and surface areas: 506,007 sf and 511,261 sf
3) Created a graded region to regrade site, thereby establishing the following general site grading calculations: 506,007 sf; 511,261 sf; 10,002 cy cut; 8,010 cy fill; -1,991 cy net cut'\/fill.
At this point all is well, saved file.
4) Created a graded region for the asphalt parking surface.
5) The following are the new resultant quantities:
9,138 cy cut (general site grading); 6,082 cy fill (general site grading); -3,056 cy (general site net cut/fill); 1,427 cy cut (asphalt); 1,149 cy fill (asphalt); -277 net cut/fill asphalt
6) New Total Cut and Fill #'s are: 10,566 cy cut; 7,232 cy fill; -3,333 cy net cut/fill
Again, perhaps it's the weekend, but I can find no correlation between these two sets of numbers and the differences are huge. First, how does Revit know the thickness of the asphalt/base to establish cut/fill? Second, why wouldn't Revit simply take the original cut/fill calcs and subtract the asphalt work? -1,991 + -277 = -2,268 NOT -3,333. Third, how can I get my original cut/fill #'s back and smply create multiple schedules and filter out areas accordingly.
