I've created a new section mark head to match our company standards. I got the 'how to' from the help folder. Now what? I've loaded the new head into a project but I don't see how to implement. Can anyone help?

you need to select your section cut, click the element properties button. then pick the edit/new button in the upper right corner and duplicate the type and rename it to what ever you want.
after you duplicate the type go into the type parameters and make sure that the
'section tag' is referring to the new section head that you have created.

hope this helps.

I've done that. When I get to the "section Tag", I only get two choices that are the defaults. How do I get the one I've created to show up there?

You need to load it in the section tag family first, then your project.

I appreciate your help. I'm sorry, but how do I load it into the Section Tag family?

File > Load From Library > Load Family

I don't have a 'section tag' in either my imperial or metric library for 2009. Only section heads and tails. Could someone provide some hand holding on this subject, as I am unable to insert my custom head into the section tag family?

Once you have the head created and loaded into your project you can then assign that head to a section family.
Select a section mark, properties, edit/new, duplicate and edit the type properties. Select your custom head family as the callout tag.

Dimitri,

I must be missing something as I have my Section Head loaded into the project and visible into the project browser - attachment 1. When I go to my section tag properties, I am only able to select the system family heads that were generated from the template and none of the custom family heads or tails that are loaded into the project are visible in the pull down menu - Attachment 2+3.

Your expertise is appreciated,

Sorry KP, I skipped a step in the procedure.
Before the tag is available it needs to be created in the project.
From the menus, Settings > View Tags > Section Tags. From here you define the families which show up in the type parameters dailogue of the section family.
Make more sense now?

Thanks Dimitri, I hadn't used that setting before or knew it existed and my HELP searches didn't lead me in that direction. 3 years in and still learning everyday. Appreciate the assistance.

Like those above, I customized our section tags to match our standards. Our tags are 5/8" diameter w/ 1/8" text (instead of the default 1/2" diameter w/ 3/32" text). All's fine when the section's horizontal, but when it's vertical (or, I imagine, any other angle) the (black) section line comes into the (blue) bubble (probably by 1/16"), see attached.

Is there a way to change the cutoff radius from 1/4" to 5/16"? I don't see anything in any of the dialogs where I created & loaded the customized section, and in the family I don't see any relevant parameters, or special reference lines, etc.
