I am looking for sheet samples of Revit residential details. In particular I would like to see sheets with wall sections and blown up details.
It would help a customer see that Revit can handle the detail level that they are acustomed to with their previous cad program.
PDF or DWF files would be great.

Does it have to be residential? We have gobs of detail sheets in Revit around here, as we've been producing 100% CD's in Revit for over 5 years now, but it's pretty much all commercial stuff. Some of it is pretty in-depth.
P.S. hope you don't get too disappointed this Saturday evening at the Forum

Here's a quick little cross section from a house I just did. Pretty standard, pretty easy to do.

Here's a detail sheet from my last project I completed a few weeks ago.

Nicely done.... Looks great!!
Did you draw the detail on top of the model elements? What is your process?
Thanks

Hey Patricks, thanks for making my quick little section look like a Pictionary clue! :) Pretty sweet looking details you got there.

You guys all ROCK!
Some description of how you did the work would be great.
Do you use detail components on top of the model?
Do any of you turn off the model after you draw details? I have heard some that do this but to me it seems a bit much when you can just add detail as you need it.
Just curious here you know,
Donnia

I tend to use as many detail components as I can (not line work). I draw over the model components, and then either hide the model components as I go, or turn off the categories altogether.
However, where possible I like to model structural stuff like floor slabs and turndowns, footings, steel structure, sometimes roof trusses, etc. and keep that stuff showing as model elements in my sections and details.
For the sheet I attached, the main section on the far left, the floor slab and turndown and the strip footing are in the model. The structural brick foundation wall was made from detail components, as was the rest of the main wall, siding, soffits, etc.

Cad-mama,
Ohmygoodness! How have ya been?? May I offer a suggestion?
IF possible, as your client a-head-of-time, for a good quality PDF or DWG of a 'typical' detail that they may use (wall sections are great). Prepare a small file with the needed detail components and fill patterns (to be at the ready).
When you're there at their office, recreate this wall section in front of their eyes in less than 5-8 minutes - and note it. They're jaws will hit the floor.

Very cool details Patrick.
Is Revit a cool program or what?
