View Full Version : "Binding" Sheet Set Values

Hello All,

Is there a way to "Bind" the referenced Sheet Set Values (Ex: Drawing Number)
so that a 3rd party would not need the DST file to properly view/plot these files?

We are (finally) starting to use sheet sets at my office. Our largest obstacle is when we need to send DWGs to client. The DWGs need to be "Self Contained"
(meaning they can not reference a .dst file for information in the drawings.)

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks all,
Andre

._Explode will convert a FIELD to TEXT

Thanks rick.

My only problem explode is that I will loose my "Non-Fielded" Attributes.

This also adds a step that I would have to do in each layout, many at my office would not find that to be an acceptable solution, due to this.

But hey, we are getting started at this issue.

Thanks all,
Andre

There should be a "Convert to text" option for field values when editing the drawing, shouldn't there?

You don't need to do anything. Just send the drawings to the client. The latest value for all fields will be retained even if they do not have the DST file.

Since it is a client I would suggest sending one drawing as a test just to make sure, but I am 99% certain it will work.

Thanks all,
AndreIf you've got Express tools installed, you could use Express --> Blocks --> Explode Attributes to Text. This will handle fielded / non-fielded attribs & convert to text. Unfortunately it doesn't ignore hidden attributes.

I will try this and see if you are right.
Thanks all for the responses and I'll keep you updated.
