AutoCAD 2007
Okay, can you create an attribute table from ordinary text that can be exported into excel spreadsheet and finally into a dbase4 format. This may be a simple task, but unfortunately I haven’t done it before. I need to submit attribute tables from dumb graphics in a file. They are not dynamic blocks (lines, polylines, points, & text) which I think they need to be in order to export the information to an attribute table. I apologies for my lack of my knowledge with this topic and any help would be appreciated.

I know ToolPac contained a tool that would allow you to convert text to a table. I think you can then export it to AutoCAD. (I know you can in 08, I'm not sure about 07, but I think you can).
I don't think there is a way, OOTB, that you can create a table from text in a drawing; and that is what you need to be able to do.

Well thanks for replying anyway. Not much feedback from the forum on this one but will keep trying to find a solution and will let you know if I or someone else finds me a resolution with this topic.
Sincerely,

Do you mean "graphics"?
Or do you mean "ordinary (autocad) text"?
They can be two very different things.
Autocad text does contain text objects that can, one way or another, be shared with other windows software.

Yes, graphics. Like I said in post...Lines, polylines. points, and just plan text. Do you a suggestion?

I guess you mean text items then NOT "dumb graphics".
Text items are not attributes (in acad terminology) but, if you do mean "attributes", look into "data extraction" or "attribute extraction" in Help.

Thanks. I'll give it a look and let you if it worked. BTW...I love you line in your signature. It's good to be flexible. LOL

If however, you mean the actual properties of any type of entity (line, polyline, text, etc.) - e.g. Layer, Color, Linetype, etc. Then I don't think there's a tool in the default AutoCAD anywhere, your best bet would probably be to search the Lisp / VBA forums - if you can't find anything then ask then this question. Someone there'll probably be able to give you a quick & dirty solution, unless they've already made an extension which they might share.
