Another question. One of my past employers used these blocks for symbols that were highly editable. whenever you double clicked on them it brought up properties for that block with fields etc that you could rename.

for example, we had a title block that had all fields blanked out. by double clicking on the title block you could edit every field contained within. Or for a keynote symbol or room number you could edit the room name, number etc. It works almost like the mixture between a block and a group.

If someone could point me in the right direction so that i can create these I would really appreciate it.

I guess you are talking about attributes. You draw the circles and lines needed for the block, then using ATTDEF you can define the parameters of the text you will input later. When making the block the order you select the attributes will determine how they prompt you later when inserting the block.
