i have created a truss using the structural truss template. the top and the bottom chord are both bowed.
when i load the family into my project the top chord isnt there. if i pick the edit profile button it shows that there is a top chord but when i close the sketch mode the top chord disappears.
is there a problem with bowed truss chords or am i missing something simple?

If anyone else has trouble with this this is what i did.
i created the complex bowed truss in the "structural framing - complex and trusses " family instead of the "structural trusses" family. i created it using sweeps by profile and using analytical lines as the path.
for some reason the "structural trusses" family has trouble with the bowed truss chords,
although it could also be an old-fasioned case of operator error.

I had a similar problem with the top chord disappearing when I made the "top chord" extend past the "bottom chord" (for wooden roof trusses with an eave overhang). I could select the individual top chord member (in the model) and extend the end, but then I'd have to calculate the distance manually (and the symbolic lines aren't showing the proper distance). I tried using the beam template, but had serious problems trying to get the z-alignment correct. I hadn't tried the "complex" template because I only saw two planes. I'll give it a shot.
Anybody else have tips on creating standard wood roof truss families?

Is there any way to give it the "2-pick" functionality? I guess it could be worse...
