Show Roof line above

Having a bit of trouble getting a plan drawing to show the associated roof line above.
Hoping someone has some tips here.
Have placed the roof plan I have set up as a 'plan underlay' in the view properties of my main plan.
Have also changed the top view range to be the assigned roof plan.
Wondering if I have missed something here? as there is no roof showing.

Change your view range so you can see the roof, then use the linework tool(set to hidden or overhead) then tab select the roof(this highlights the whole thing) and click.
Then return your view range.
