i know i will probably be tarred and feathered for asking this question in the wrong forum but the inventor forum is locked... i am trying to extrude a gear in inventor 9. the dimensions are fine before array, but after array the auto dimension is showing one dimension missing. and when i try to select for extrusion i cannot select anything. i'm sure the geometry is correct. what am i doing wrong? any ideas?

maybe there is some format for designing gears in inventor?

thanks

This link suggests your gears should be
designed in one of the two shaft generator tools.

This link is a host of tutorials for you, none appear to be
specific towards gears.

The inventor forum is not locked. There is no general inventor forum - there are sub forums, and those are all open. Let me know where you want this post, and I will be glad to move it to the correct forum - and for the record no one has ever been tarred or feathered for posting to the wrong forum - only whipped lightly with a cooked noodle ;)
