Draftmaster plotter

I am using ACAD 2000 and a HP DraftsMaster 7595B Plotter. I changed computers and the new one has USB ports. The Plotter was used with the standard RS232 configuration.
I have a USB to serial adaptor but cannot get the plotter to work. The plotter displays a '15 Error - I/O Configuration Error' message. Any Ideas would be appreciated.

I sounds like a $30 dollar serial interface card
will save you a lot of grief.
