My company is looking at calling out materials on details as numbers that relate to a legend on the right hand side of every sheet and coorsponds back to the specifications. We have looked at only having the materials that show up on the sheet being in the legend but this doesn't work unless your details are all being pulled from the model. When 2-D details become involved as they often do the legend will not automatically populate as you call out those materials. Anybody else using this method for calling out materials and if so is there any hints as to the best way to have Revit assist in completing this noting method. The other option is to have all materials on the entire job in the legend on every sheet.
