View Full Version : Project Level/Shared Level Problem

I have a problem with Project and shared levels.

I have a master "site" project, which contains landscaping etc. I have this linked into several other projects containing buildings on the site and have acquired the co-ordinates of the site model in the building models.

The problem is that in the site model, whilst the shared levels are where I want them to be, the project level is 600mm above this, which messes up my absolute levels on topography.

Is there a way that I can move the project level down 600mm in my site project, whilst leaving the shared level the same?

Many Thanks

I have the same issue too. It would make sense to have a tool for that, because shared level is usually fixed (like a sea level), but the floors and levels move, often leaving +0.00 meaningless.

At the stage you are currently at, I'm not sure there is an easy fix. Before it was all completed, you could use the Tools\Project Position/Orientation\Relocate the project, moving the project coordinates for the site the 600mm distance. Doing this now would require that all of the other files re-capture the shared coordinates from the revised site. Not sure what havoc might occur now.

Andrew
I have also Encountered this Issue - with no work around.
What Revit needs is when editing a Topo - there should be another option under "Absolute Elevation"
I am guessing that there is one in the Program - otherwise why has the factory have a drop down box "Absolute Elevation" being the only option?

I posted the question about 6 months ago, must be a record for getting a reply back ;) It is nice to know others have the same problem.

I'm struggling to remember how we dealt with the problem back then, except for getting it right in the first place on future projects
