Hello! Can someone please give me some feedback on how the general cad piping community are creating Iso's & general assembly dwgs in autocad. We have bits and pieces of blocks from various sources but no complete package that enables us to do this! I've checked out the "MechQ" software but was not to pleased with it. Does anybody no of any add-on programs or block libraries that may be available. Using Acad 2008 full Ver. as well as Inventor 2008 Pro! TIA!

3D Pipe is pretty awesome, do some research on it. They have pretty good libraries but it is very expensive.

If you have IV Pro then you must have the Routed Systems module right. That would be my first choice, depending on the size of the system you need to model.

Thanks for the replies! I will take a look at 3d Pipe. Inventor won't work for Iso's

For ISOs, ISOGEN is the defacto standard. You need pipe design software to design with, of course. Using CADWorx here with excellent results; AutoPLANT with mixed results in the past. If you want professional results, you will need to pay for professional software.

Thanks everybody! I'll check out the Iso-gen now. We might just start importing our valve components from Inventor for our 2d General arrangement dwgs. It will be a little tedious, but doesn't seem to be much out there for this! Have a good one!
