Is there a way to create a subregion without changing the contours of the site? Otherwise, the tool is quite useless.
Please see the attached screen shots.

I see the line in the new image, but I don't understand it. I've never seen a contour line added as a result of creating a subregion. It's only supposed to allow you to change the material of the area created by the subregion??? Are you sure a split surface wasn't created instead? Even still, you'd have to grade the region for it to change the contours. Maybe you can post the file for review?

I tried posting the file but it was too large (limit is 2MB).

I am having the same issues in RA2009. However I have noticed the reason the subregion changes the contours, is that it is actually altering the toposurface. Infact it is coming up as reporting changes in the topography schedule with cut/fill differences.
If I drag the subregion it changes the contours as it goes!
This is not the way it is supposed to work as mmate noted.
Does anyone know what is going on here? I have attached the Revit file.
It makes me wary about using subregions.
