Hello everybody,
I am doing an conversion and an extension of an old farm.
listing area's in existing amnd new conditions is one of the requirements of the building permit, and scheduling area plans is the tool to do this, I thought.
When I schedul rooms, I can set the phasing, but, to my surprise, when I schedual area's phasing is disabeled. Why????
back to drawing regions and excel? or are there other ways,
please enlighten me

You will have to do this in the area plan itself. When you are in the area plan go to view properties and it should do this. The only thing is though that it would be way easier if you created new area schemes and then did a schedule on them.

close, but no sigar.
try it out for yourself
I created existing and new area plans/vieuws
phasing is set correct for these plans/vieuws
phasing filters are set up correct.
but when you try to create a new area schedual phasing is greyed out
so a cannot link the schedual to my different vieuws (existing and new) as I can with for instance a room schedual
Ok, so have you tried my second suggestion?
Why not divide your single area plan into two different areas using the area boundary tool. This way you can show the relationship of existing to new both graphically and through the schedule.
What you would do is create the area boundary around the entire perimeter of the building. Then where the existing meets the new work, use the area boundary tool to create a division between the existing and new. You can now place an area within each defined boundary. This is something I use quite often for dividing projects into different occupancy classifications when I do my code summary sheets (attached image).
To address the area schedule concern - and I belive Elmo hinted at it in his post - you will need to develop and area scheme for each type of area plan you wish to create. When you create an area schedule, you will notice that the area scheme <shows up like this>. This means that you can only report the area information related to that specific area scheme. In this respect, you are correct in that the area schedule cannot look to a specific phase of construction.
Hope this helps.

Oke, I get it, thanks Elmo and jcoe.
Do not use phasing but rewrite the rules. e.g. gros building existing and gros building new.area schemes
This works all right.
I find it a bit inconsistend though.
But thanks again.
I keep learning time and again by visiting augi.
Great.
