AutoCAD Electrical Terminals

I am self taught in AutoCAD Electrical and will hopefully try to get to a structured training somtime soon. Until then, I need help with terminals in Electrical. I am haveing trouble with assigning wire numbers to multi-level terminals. How do I know what the "upper" or "bottom" terminals are? I have scoured the help menus and have not seen much. When assigning wire numbers, where do I do it?
