I am working on a restoration job of a building built in 1911 so I have to create all new families for the member sizes used then. Everything has been great until now. I am trying to create a column family that uses double angles for the flanges and plate for the web. I've already done something like it for plate girders but that was easy to do with the double angle framing family. My problem with this column is that when I create my sweep using the standard angle profile, I don't get the parameters from the angle. So my question is, How can I load the parameters from the angle profile into my column family?

Have you tried copying and renaming L-Angle.txt file into the same directory as your new family? This should give you the ability to add sizes to your project.

I don't see how that will work since there are no parameters to read the .txt file. I'll give it a try anyway.

Ah. Since you aren't starting with an L Angle column family then my idea won't work. Sorry.
