View Full Version : elevation tags
I am new to Revit!
Trying to edit the elevation tags. I changed the elevation tag from 1/2" square to 1/2" round, but want to make a few more modifications to our office standard. I can't find the file to modify.

elevations are one of the items that are hardcoded and only somewhat modifiable (not too many of these, but a few). You can make modifications in the family properties (circle vs. square, size, angle of arrows, display of view name, etc.) but that's the only place to edit for now.

This is the first thing Revit HAS TO CHANGE...it doesn't make sense that you can edit just about any other type of annotation, but not this one. Pretty ridiculous.
understood, but all I really want to do is move the location of the text indicating the view. Out of the box this is shifted off center from the arrow and looks sloppy.

I that's the case, go into the family properties. There is a field called "view name position" where you can edit the position of this text...

I use a section marker, which you CAN change, renamed it to "elevation" so appears in seperate project browser location (ie: Sections (Elevations) - which is what a elevation is anyway)...then I grab the end of the section line and move it up so you cant see it...works like a dream!
As mentioned...this means you can create a new family (based on 'section head') to create whatever you want to show
