Help!! Uneven roof problem....??

G'day guys, I was just wondering anyone know how to solve this problem?
I have a roof but one side of the eave is extended its edge and is LOWER than all other other one; basically a large overhang on one side....

So how do I do this? I try to change the base offset height of ONE side of the eave line but Revit won't do it (understandbly) because "Adjacent slope-defining lines must have identical eave heights"...

Right now my temporary solution is to just add ANOTHER roof so it extends out the way I want it, and align them on angle and height.....

While in edit mode, extend the overhang lines without giving the leading edge a slope defining line.

Sorry to ask the question again Beegee (or anyone)..
The process you describe worked Beegee, but strangely, when I discover I didn't put an overhang offset on some of the edges, and try to offset/extend/align those eave lines, it still give me the same error message as mention before. It's strange it will work fine if I left it as it is, but just by extending 600 mm all around and it will break it...? any idea?

It may have something to do with the geometry of your particular roof. Sometimes the whole roof design gets out of wack when you push / pull eaves lines, and its best then to start afresh with a new sketch.

If that isn't the case, can you extract and post the roof file to look at ?

Try the roof without the extension feature and get the offsets correct...then edit so the extension is added...sketch the lines for the offset rather than using pick walls. See if that gets you right?

I have a similar problem with additional variation ... (the permutations are now driving me nuts .. apart from wasting a lot of time on it)

I have an Extended roof as above & it works OK .. now trying to add small gable onto extended lower end of roof
I am able to construct 2nd roof & join up the 2 roofs .. but I am not able to cut & trim roofs to get the internal cut on ceilings & allow the wall to join the gable roof.

The only way I seem to get something to work is draw another roof .. add the gable to this & then align the roofs

There must be a better way to do this & I would be very grateful if someone could clarify the best methodology.

Sorry Phil It just won't do it .. not behaving itself the naughty thing .. the roof is set out from the ridge centreline .. eaves height is dictated by the set back walls and not from the front wall .. I can do it another way by a roof with gable from the front wall to ridge .. and then create another roof for the other side & then align at ridge. .. but ..the problem with this is you have first to create the roof as shown with overhang in order to establish the eaves height of the overhang .. then use & draw the other roofs/ methods

The coloured plan shows it doing it your way as one roof .. but then the ridge moves off the desired ridge centreline because of the unequal overhangs.

Correction .. just tried my method above & for some reason I cannot alter the roof to a mono pitch roof with gable to ridge .. I'm off to bed.

Should still be doable. Attached another ideer.

FYI - the first image was not going about it as one roof. There's the main roof and then the other subsequent roof is joined. This join condition allows you to go back and edit the main roof footprint accordingly. This carves out the underside of the main roof and makes way for the gable condition.
