View Full Version : Navisworks Freedom - Can you Silent Install?

I know it is "installshield" based, so I know it is possible to make it accept a "quiet" qualifier and just go... question is, did the developers do that in the installer?

Are there any switches preset? Those that I try do not work and I will do a ISS file only as a last resort.

Thanks for any help,
John

Yes you can, take a look here https://customer.navisworks.com/slxweb/portal/portalKBArticle.php?id=t6UJ9A001M1F
You need to be logged into the customer portal

David,

Thanks, but no joy.

I tried:
C:\Temp\Navisworks\setup.exe /r /f1"C:\Temp\Navisworks\setup.iss"
C:\Temp\Navisworks\setup.exe /r /f1"setup.iss"
C:\Temp\Navisworks\setup.exe /r

None worked to create the ISS file.

Ideas?

John

Oops I just noticed you were asking about Freedom, this only applies to jetstream.
You could submit a ticket to find out if this is possible, or just use the no install version http://s3.amazonaws.com/navisworks/freedom/5_5/Freedom.zip
Just copy the files to the users hard drive and create a shortcut on their desktop to freedom.exe

Just to bump this thread up a bit, I was able to create a silent install image of Freedom 2009 that resides on our server. Much easier for the IT guys to handle. :)
