Hey I need to add another user who has been given access to my drawings but I cannot add their name in the workset dialog box to make which file is editable..
How do I add other names to that dialog box so they may edit the files that I need to have them edit?
Thanks

Their name will appear automatically when they open the file and open/make editable the workset they wish to work on.
In other words you do not control it, you do not "give permission". Although you may be on to something here. Marty, I am going to call you...
I would advise reading up on worksets. Worksets could quite possibly be the most advanced concepts you will come across using Revit.

My partner tried to do some add work to the drawing after it was saved as the central file.
But it said that they didnt have access.. to do that.
Now how do you assign people to do different parts of a drawing ?
In the lit. It says you can assign people to do different parts but how do you add their names to the groups who can edit?

Sounds like there's some confusing language in the documentation about Worksets. We might want to forward this to "Penthesilea" as she is a Tech. Writer for Revit!

Your questions imply that you haven't studied this feature or still don't understand the concepts.
You need to do an online seminar for worksets if you can. It's free other than your time to participate. Check out the Revit links to training at the autodesk site. You also need to do the tutorials for worksets as the "warnings" suggest.
It is NOT a user permissions tool or project security scheme though that might be a good idea...
In order to use worksets at all the project must have worksets enabled first. This means revit creates a new file (central file) and a support backup folder to keep track of changes. Then you open and saveas the central file using a naming convention of your choosing, this personal copy of the central file is the file you work with and you save your changes to the central file.
Here is my "metaphor" for worksets:
Revit is a librarian, a workset is a "book", you check out a book, no other user can read that book until you return it. When you do, another person checks it out and you can't. If you have four worksets and you check out two and the other user checks out two, you both must return the books by: saving locally, then saving to central (relinquishing worksets or "returning the books"), and saving locally again. Until you return the "books", no one check it out.
You can "publish" the editing you do to your book. You do this by saving your data back to the "library" and when you do you can elect to return the book or keep it checked out. Once you've published your edits, the other user can "see" them by "reloading latest worksets".
Take some time to digest the documentation in help and the tutorials and it should begin to make sense to you pretty quickly.

Timothy try this...it's there...don't give up so easily
Click on the "TRAIN ME" below, then in the window that loads, TRAINING CLASSES...then choose SCHEDULE. You are looking for course titled: "Working in a Multi User Environment".

umm..
found it...Thanks for your reply. Now the only problem is I have to be a subscriber to subscriptions and they start at $300.00 and be registered with Adesk.

Sorry, forgot you are using the educational version huh? The workset tutorial should be close enough. Did my "metaphor" help at all??
Let us know if you have questions after going through the tutorial.

Their name will appear automatically when they open the file and open/make editable the workset they wish to work on.
The name that appears under "Edited By" in the workset dialog is the "Workset Username" specified under Settings|Options. Make sure every user has a unique name or you will have trouble.

worksets requires training, basically you need to
1. create a central file
2. open the central file, save as your name (do this at your computer)
3. go to another computer open the central and do a save as and your coworkers name, now he will work on that file and you will work on your file and periodically save to the central file, never work directly in the central file again. if you add more users they just open the central and save as, with their name.
