I have a .sat file inserted into Autocad 2005 and Autocad 2008.
With 2005 no problems: render and shade OK.
With 2008 unable to shade or render, just disappears from the screen.
It is the same .sat -file
This list I got from 2005:
see attachment: bounding box values >0
And from 2008:
see attachment: bounding box values are 0
Is this a bug in 2008 (btw in Autocad 2009 the same result as in 2008)
Saved the drawing in 2005 and opened in 2008/2009 get the same result (no shade or render in both of them)
During the proces of shading the following error :
Facetting of the object failed.
Modeling Operation Error:
Attempt to fit curve to zero or one points.
Who has the solution?
I attached the origional .sat file too.

Affraid that I have no solution to this at the moment.
We recently had one of our Microstation guys produce a complex feature solid model with loads of irregular arcs all of the the place in it which we converted to AutoCAD.
We found that 7 of the 8 chunks of data converted perfectly, but the largest one came through with 0 values in the bounding box like your problem. This meant that we could not cut sections through this area either or render it at all.
The really annoying thing is that our client wanted a dwg of them, but the limitations of AutoCAD meant the geometry couldn't be created as solids so we had to use Microstation!

With 2005 no problems...
Try using any of the solid editing commands on that file in 2005. For example try extruding a cylinder and subtracting a hole in 2005.
Here is a repaired file.

Thank you very much, it works in Acad2008 now.
BTW How did you 'repair' this file?

Autodesk Inventor.
There were 4 bad surfaces. When I get a chance I will create a screen capture to show where they were. I had to unstitch the part, delete the 4 surfaces and re-stitch back to a solid. Interestingly SolidWorks crashed to the desktop everytime I tried to open in that program.

Newbie Inventor question time!
Is it possible to create surfaces and then stitch them together into a solid which is then recognised in AutoCAD?
If yes then this might be (an expensive!) solution to some 3D problems we occasionally get here.

Inventor LT is free http://labs.autodesk.com (but limited to single parts - not assemblies)
Or post the problem file here and someone will do the repair.

My guess, and this is just a guess, is that anyone will be able to purchase Inventor LT in about 30 days.
