View Full Version : Maximum Number of Dashboard Panels?

It appears that there are a maximum number of panels you can select to be visible on the dashboard. In the case of tool palettes, you can have a lot more tools than what can display on your screen. When that happens, a scroll bar appears to allow access to the tools.
When you select a large number of panels to display on the dashboard, a scroll bar is not added.
Is there a way around this?
Thanks!

I see how that could be a problem. I cannot resize the dashpanel.
I can put most of the buttons I use on a custom panel, minus some
of the lesser used commands.

If you're intending to use AutoCAD 2009 (now shipping, it seems), there is good and bad news.
The good news is that using the Ribbon in vertical mode (that's the closest equivalent to the Dashboard), you do get a scroll bar when you run out of room.
The bad news is that the work you're putting in now will have to be discarded as there is no Dashboard-to-Ribbon migration mechanism. More details here (http://www.blog.cadnauseam.com/2008/03/06/autocad-2009-the-prequel-part-10-dude-wheres-my-dashboard/).

So the name has changed, the idea seems the same.
I have been using the 2008 dashboard to throw some custom
buttons onto my second monitor. Works like a charm.
I hope the ribbon will be equally useful.

Ah....good to know! I know we will be going to 2009, so so be it.
Thanks!
The ribbon....makes me think of Star Trek Generations....the Nexus was it?
