Hello all,

When I try to import an image (381kb B&W PNG), into either a sheet or a drafting view, Revit acts strangely. First the preview x'd box doesn't show up, and then when I click to place the view closes and a box pops up that says "An error has occured drawing the contents of this window. This window will be closed." This happens every time I try to open the view-- the only way to fix it is to delete out the imported raster from File>Raster Images. Are there PNG formats that are not supported? I made it using photoshop from a TIF.

Thanks

Ben

Update: I scaled the image down and made it a high-compression grayscale JPG. Now the preview box shows up but when I place the image, it's blank. Strange...

Final Update: Resizing to the 72dpi equivalent seems to solve the problem. Either my computer (3.2GHz Xeon w/ 4GB Ram) is having problems with the processing or Revit has a max pixel size for images. As in a 5mb low-res .jpg is okay, but a 250kb ultra-hi-res .png doesn't work. I'd appreciate it if someone involved in development would be honest about what the max image size actually is. If you're bringing in drawings with small text at full scale, 72 dpi doesn't really cut it.
