Area Plan types

I am trying to create new area plan schemes for tenant plans within a building. We create a new area plan scheme for each prospective tenant in order to keep them organized. However recently every time I try and create a new area scheme type revit crashes saying I've encountered an error. Has this happened to anyone else?

No never, but try auditing the file when opening it.
