Is it possible to have a task tied to a permanent object as well as a temporary object? For example I may have a task that just says Fly RTU's....the RTU's would be permanent but the crane placing them will be temporary. I would really prefer to not create a new task for this that has the potential to become uncoordinated with the MS schedule

I think I understand your question - and no it isn't
But surely you would want a line item in the gannt chart that says ' remove crane' or similar as the task to which you attach the object?
