We are currently working with a structure engineer who is working in Revit Structure. We are linking in the structure model into our architectural file. It links in fine, the proble is when I cut a section through the linked model the line work is different from the original model. I've checked the VG and don't see anything that would create this problem. Even weirder is if I link it into a blank file, I don't get the odd line work. It must be something to do with my file...right?

Check what's the discipline set to your view.
Also, I'm not sure how far you played with the VG, but have you checked if the linked file tab to see if it's not set to custom?

Yes, the problem occurs when I have it set to custom. But, because I have place holder floors in my architectural model that I don't want to see over the structural floors, I have to set it to custom or hide the architectural floors individually. This feels like a work around to me and just thought there was a better way.

If you dont need to see the arch floor at all use VG to close the category and create a view template. If it's only a few use filters
