3d views disappearing

i have had a problem with my 3d views disappearing. when i create a new 3d view it is just a white screen. even if i place structural members they dont show up.

i have checked the visability grphics and everything is on.
i have checked the hide element function and nothing is hidden.
the view discipline is set to structural.
if i keep stretching the crop box Revit ultimately crashes.


any suggestions are always greatly appreciated.

- Do you have worksets? if yes, are you sure all the worksets are open and their visibility is ON?(note these are two different things).

worksets have never been enabled on this project. i also tried turning the crop box off and zooming to fit. when i do this it zooms into an closer to an area but nothing is there.

i found my structure. if i turn the crop box off and zoom all to fit it zooms into an area but i cant see anything.
if a do a crossing window with the cursor it finds something.
the pin symbol for my pinned objects show up and i can zoom in on the structure. now the problem is if i turn the crop box on the structure is so tiny that it isnt visible.
so now my question is: why is it creating my 3d view with such a larger crop region on new 3d views, how is it changing in existing views, and how can i fix them?

If an existing 3D view is working and you are able to zoom to it and everything works fine, then go to that view and create a view template from that view. Try going back to the problematic view and apply the view template to it.

i found the problem.
somehow an object was placed or moved to a location so far away from the model that when you zoom out nothing is visible. it was probably a mistake that i made somehow but thanks for your suggestions.
